The flights to Sochi International Airport (AER) will operate from June 16 to September 1. The three-times-a-week service will depart from Terminal 2 at Dubai International (DXB), on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Jeyhun Efendi, SVP Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, said: “We are pleased to expand our seasonal summer offering with the resumption of flights to Sochi. Over the last few years we have seen consistent demand on our popular seasonal routes such as Batumi, Corfu, Dubrovnik, Mykonos and Santorini and with the start of flights to Sochi, we look forward to offering our passengers more attractive holiday destinations to explore between June and September.” Economy Class Lite fares start from a budget-friendly Dhs2,500 for a return trip from Dubai. Business Class fares start from Dhs10,000 for a return trip. Recent launches by flydubai in Europe Earlier this month, flydubai launched four new services, growing its network in Europe to 43 destinations in 21 countries. flydubai has launched four new services to Basel, Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius in Europe. It becomes the first UAE national carrier to operate direct flights to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL). The service will commence on August 2 and feature four flights a week. flydubai also launched daily flights to both Penang and Langkawi in Malaysia, with the flights officially commencing on February 10. This move expands flydubai’s Southeast Asian network to four destinations across two countries. Global network expansion in 2023 flydubai expanded its global network to 122 destinations in 2023, driven by pent-up demand for air travel as the aviation industry has largely recovered from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The airline added 17 new destinations to its global network last year including Cairo Sphinx, Milan, Neom, and St Petersburg while the launch of operations to Krabi and Pattaya in Thailand marked its return to Southeast Asia.
