Earlier this year, ENOC launched its Service Station of the Future at the Expo 2020 site, which will serve the public at District 2020, and also support the Expo fleet’s logistical needs. Keeping in mind the sustainability focus at the Expo, ENOC installed 283 solar photovoltaic panels that can generate 143MWh of solar power every year, and a 25-metre wind turbine will generate 12.7 MWh of wind energy annually at the service station. Over 43,000 square metres of carbon fibre has been used to build the 133 multi-layer canopy frame. The service station also received the LEED platinum certification from the US Green Building Council, making it the world’s first platinum certified station. LEED verifies that designs and buildings are built considering factors based on metrics such as energy savings, water efficiency, and CO2 emissions, among other measures.
