The Emirates Loto which was abruptly discontinued in July has returned and will now be rebranded under the name Mahzooz, which means lucky in Arabic.

The inaugural Mahzooz draw will take place on November 21, 2020, at 9pm UAE time, and will be streamed live across Mahzooz’s digital platforms.

The announcement of the return of the weekly draw was made by EWINGS, the managing operator for the lottery.

According to the new format, those who match all six numbers can claim a share of a Dhs50m grand prize.

Those who match five of the six numbers will share a Dhs1m prize, which might increase depending on how many players there are, noted Teresa Starr, co-CEO of EWINGS.

Those who match four numbers will earn a guaranteed cash prize of Dhs1,000, and participants with three matching numbers will receive Dhs35.

The price to purchase a collectable to participate in the draw will remain at Dhs35.

Former Emirates Loto celebrity hosts, Lebanese presenter Wissam Braidy along with Indian model Aishwarya Ajit will return to present the all-new Mahzooz which will include a live audience after the Covid-19 restrictions are eased.

Before Emirates Loto suspended its weekly draw in July, there were reportedly 47,500 players from 50 different nationalities who won Dhs14,670,500 in total prizes from the time it started the lottery in April 18 this year. However, no one has yet won the grand prize.
