Eid Al Adha 2023 holiday for financial markets in UAE

The UAE’s Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) has announced that financial markets will close from June 27 until June 30 on the occasion of Eid Al Adha holiday.

In a statement on Tuesday, the authority said that work will resume on Monday, July 3.

In accordance with public interest requirements, the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange has the authority to determine the start and end of the holiday period.

The authority said that the announcement follows the Circular No. 05 of 2023 issued by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources concerning Eid Al Adha holidays, and in the consultation with the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and the Dubai Financial Market.

Eid Al Adha holiday dates

The UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced a public paid holiday for the private sector from June 27 to June 30 on the occasion of Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha.

Employees will get a four-day break to mark Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha.

The declaration of a public paid holiday from June 27 to June 30 combined with the weekend makes it a six-day break for many workers in the UAE.
