On Sunday, Reuters cited two sources as saying Abdullatif AlMulla resigned last week after joining DPG in August 2015.

“DPG can confirm that Abdullatif AlMulla will be leaving DPG to pursue new ventures,” the spokesperson said. “In his long-standing career within Dubai Holding, Abdullatif led a number of key strategic initiatives and successful projects. DPG would like to thank him for his dedication and leadership, and wish him all the best for the future.”

No reason was given for the executive’s departure. AlMulla was previously chief executive of another Dubai Holding unit, free zone developer TECOM Group.

The spokesperson also confirmed that Abdulla Bin Lahej, the former CEO of Emaar Properties, has been appointed as the new group chief executive.

He resigned from Emaar in April after 16 years at the company.
