Home UAE Dubai Dubai: Pregnant women now eligible for Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine All DHA vaccination centres across Dubai have started administering the vaccine to pregnant women who are residents of the emirate by Varun Godinho June 30, 2021 The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) announced late on Tuesday that it has started vaccinating pregnant women against Covid-19. It said that all DHA vaccination centres across Dubai have now started providing the vaccine to expectant mothers starting from Wednesday, June 29. In order to avail of the vaccine, these women can pre-register and book their appointment through DHA’s smart application or DHA WhatsApp on 800342. Taking to Twitter, the DHA recommended taking the vaccine from 13 weeks. It said that pregnant women should consult their doctor if they have any health conditions. They should also consult the available physician at the vaccination centre. The DHA has reportedly already reserved the required doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine necessary to vaccinate pregnant women residing in Dubai. She said that including pregnant women in the vaccination campaign will shield them from risks of infection, reported state news agency WAM. In April this year, the DHA expanded the eligibility criteria for those who could receive the vaccine. At the time, it confirmed that women who are breastfeeding as well as those who are planning to conceive were eligible for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
