Home UAE Dubai Dubai Police completes over 1.3 million transactions via its smart platform this year The Dubai Police Smart Police Stations have also processed 60,216 transactions in the corresponding period by Varun Godinho October 18, 2020 The number of transactions processed by the Dubai Police this year via its smart service channels has reached1,342,262 since January 2020, it revealed on Saturday. Brigadier Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, the director-general of artificial intelligence at Dubai Police added that of these, 758,078 transactions were processed through the police force’s official website. The smart police stations provide police services without human intervention. Those police station which have been set up in different areas in the emirate, are open 24 hours, seven days a week and offer a range of services in six languages. The walk-in or drive-through smart stations allow individuals to report crimes, traffic incidents and also obtain social support for victims of family violence. Read: Dubai Police roll out smart radars to catch motorists using mobile phones Earlier this year, the emirate’s police force confirmed that it had installed smart radars across the city to detect motorists who use mobile phones while driving. The new radars can also identify violations such as failure to abide by lane discipline, not fastening the seat belt, sudden deviation, among others. While rapidly upgrading its technology capabilities, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, recently authorised the Dubai Police to use security cameras in public areas to handle situations as part of their daily duties including handling traffic violations.
