Listed theme park operator Dubai Parks and Resorts is planning to seek shareholder approval to change its name, it revealed on Wednesday.
The company, which is set to open the mega Dubai Parks and Resorts theme park complex in October this year, said that the name change was discussed at its board meeting on June 15.
A statement said: “dXb Entertainments PJSC is the proposed name for the corporate entity while Dubai Parks and Resorts will continue to be the name of the region’s largest integrated theme park destination.”
Shareholders at the general assembly meeting on Thursday, June 23 will vote on the proposal and also the election and appointment of an additional board member, the company said.
The Dubai Parks and Resorts complex will feature three parks when it opens including Hollywood themed motiongate, Bollywood Park Dubai and Legoland Dubai; a retail, entertainment and dining walkway called Riverland Dubai and the Lapita Hotel.
Late last month, the company also confirmed that it has raised Dhs 1.68bn from a rights issue to develop a new Six Flags theme park.
