Dubai mega sale to begin this week

Discounts of up to 90 per cent are being offered on a range of brands

More than 1,500 Dubai stores are gearing up for a three-day sale this week, which coincides with Black Friday in the United States.

The event organised by Dubai tourism agency Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) will see discounts of up to 90 per cent offered across the city on a range of products.

These include apparel, electronics, jewellery, homeware and toys.

Around 350 brands are participating for the November 23-25 period including Coach, Kurt Geiger, Longchamp, Armani Exchange, Bloomingdales, GAP, Topshop, Superdry and Banana Republic.

Dubai-based online shopping site Souq.com also has its own sales event and is offering more than 500,000 deals this year.

DFRE also organises an annual summer sale from May 18 to 20 offering similar discounts.

Dubai’s retail market is forecast to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 4.9 per cent from $56.6bn in 2016 to $71bn by 2021, according to Euromonitor International data.
