Home UAE Dubai Dubai carrier Emirates’ A380 aircraft to serve 27 cities by November end Over the next six weeks, the airline will re-instate its A380 services to destinations such as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Johannesburg and Madrid, among others by Zainab Mansoor September 27, 2021 Dubai carrier Emirates has announced that its A380 aircraft will be deployed to an expanded list of destinations starting October and November this year. By the end of November, the number of cities that the aircraft will serve will be scaled up to 27, representing a more than 65 per cent increase from its current 16. The airline is gradually deploying its aircraft in sync with passenger demand as the travel industry continues on its path to recovery, a statement said. Over the next six weeks, Emirates will re-instate its A380 services to destinations such as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Johannesburg, Madrid, Milan, Riyadh (subject to government approvals), Sao Paulo and Zurich. The aircraft’s services to Istanbul are scheduled to launch on October 1, set to become the first-ever A380 operation in Turkey, a route previously not served. Read: Dubai’s Emirates to receive final A380 in November this year The airline currently flies to over 120 cities, representing 90 per cent of its pre-pandemic network, and plans to restore 70 per cent of its capacity by the end of the year are on track with the return to service of more than 50 A380 aircraft. Emirates is also scaling up of operations across its global network to meet the surge in customer demand to Dubai as well as other destinations. Dubai hosted a total of 2.85 million international overnight visitors from January-July 2021.
