The emirate has appointed 22 chief artificial intelligence officers (CAIOs) across various government entities. The appointments were announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, who underscored Dubai’s commitment to developing a pioneering model for AI-enabled government operations, as reported by the state news agency, WAM on June 9. “This initiative will enhance Dubai’s progress and expertise in AI and solidify its position as a leader in creating innovative solutions built on advanced technology,” said Sheikh Hamdan. The CAIOs will spearhead specialised plans and programmes to integrate AI across their respective departments.
