The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will conduct its 112th auction at 4.30pm on March 18 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel (Dubai), with registrations starting five days earlier. The vehicle licensing plates will be of two, three, four and five digits. Interested individuals can register through the RTA’s website its Customer Happiness Centres at Umm Ramool, Deira and Al Barsha. However, new users must have a valid traffic file in Dubai. Additionally, an non-refundable Dhs120 entrance fee will be levied. The successful bidder should pay the bid amount within 10 working days, or else the deposit would be confiscated, with the bidder placed on the defaulters list. Additionally, a 5 per cent value-added tax will be applied on sold number plates. Any person has the right to own any number of numbers, RTA said on Monday.
