Covid-19 update: UAE reports 1,315 new cases, highest daily rise in infections since the outbreak

The Ministry of Health and Prevention confirmed 1,315 new Covid-19 cases, its highest daily rise in new infections since the contagion was first reported in the country.

The second highest daily rise in new cases, equalling 1,231, was reported on October 3.

The new cases were detected as a result of 96,989 tests conducted in the preceding 24 hours to screen for the virus.

The ministry also confirmed 1,452 additional recoveries and two deaths.

A total of 108,608 people have contracted the virus, of whom 100,007 have recovered and 448 have succumbed to it.

Oman
The Ministry of Health has registered 638 new coronavirus cases, 335 recoveries and seven deaths across the sultanate.

The total cases in the country have now reached 107,213 including 93,557 recoveries and 1,053 deaths, Times of Oman reported.

Qatar
The health ministry confirmed 214 new infections and 197 additional recoveries in the last 24 hours.

The country has a total of 2,812 active cases currently.
