The UAE has reported 410 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 46,973.

The newly diagnosed cases, belonging to different nationalities, are in a stable condition and are undergoing the necessary medical treatment, the Ministry of Health and Prevention said.

They were identified after the ministry conducted 49,000 additional tests, in line with its plans to boost screening throughout the country for the early detection of infections, particularly amongst those who may have had contact with infected individuals.

The ministry also announced the death of two patients due to complications arising from Covid-19, taking the death toll to 310.

Meanwhile 304 people infected with the virus have fully recovered after receiving the necessary medical care, bringing the total number of recoveries to 35,469.

The ministry offered its condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to patients currently undergoing medical care.

It also urged the public to adhere to health guidelines and instructions from the relevant authorities, particularly concerning social distancing.

The UAE has been reopening gradually, and announced on Wednesday that it had completed the National Sterilisation Programme, with movement restrictions across the country lifted, except for Abu Dhabi where entry to the emirate is currently suspended.
