Home Covid-19 Covid-19: UAE reports 2,556 new cases, 1 death The total number of recorded infections in the UAE stands at 764,493 by Varun Godinho January 1, 2022 On Saturday, January 1, the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) reported 2,556 new Covid-19 cases in the country. It scales the total number of recorded infections in the UAE to 764,493. The latest infections were reported detected following 463,616 Covid-19 tests conducted over the previous 24 hours to screen for the virus. In a statement, the Ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases. The ministry noted that the infected individuals are from various nationalities and are reported to be in a stable condition. On Saturday, MoHAP also announced 1 death due to Covid-19 complications. The total number of deaths as a result of the virus since the start of the pandemic has therefore risen to 2,165. Furthermore, MoHAP said that there were also 908 individuals had fully recovered from Covid-19 over the previous 24 hours. The total number of patients who have recovered in the country after having been infected with the virus now stands at 745,963.
