As Expo 2020 Dubai’s Official Premier Digital Network Partner, Cisco has already deployed its intent-based network across the site. In its new capacity as the network operator, Cisco will now assume the management of Expo 2020’s entire IP networking infrastructure across all Thematic Districts and pavilions, parks and arrival plazas, in addition to Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC), which will be co-located at the Expo site. Cisco will be managing a large-scale network operating centre (NOC) for Expo 2020 handled by a dedicated team who now join Cisco’s current workforce at the site, deploying and overseeing the management of the technology. These alerts will empower the operating team to monitor and optimise network performance, as well as identify potential incidents and security threats ahead of time. “Core to Expo 2020 is a vision to mobilize people around the world to come together to solve humanity’s most pressing issues, which can be facilitated by leveraging technology,” said Shukri Eid, managing director, Cisco Gulf Region. “It gives us great pride to be appointed as network operator and in our expanded role, we look forward to building, managing and maintaining one of the most sophisticated and reliable network management infrastructures in the region,” he added.
