Scheduled to commence operations on October 27, these daily flights aim to provide travellers with convenient and cost-effective travel options to the South Asian island destination. The route will be serviced by an Airbus A320 aircraft. The new route, designated as G9 091, departs from Sharjah at 8am local time, arriving in the Maldives at 11:20pm local time. The return flight, G9 092, will depart from the Maldives at 2:20pm local time and land in Sharjah at 5:55pm local time. Adel Al Ali, group CEO of Air Arabia, stated: “We are thrilled to enhance our network with this enchanting addition to the Maldives. The launch of direct flights underscores our commitment to offering diverse travel options and connecting our customers to some of the world’s most breathtaking destinations.” He emphasised, “This new route from Sharjah reinforces our dedication to delivering seamless connectivity and value-driven air travel experiences to our passengers.” Air Arabia launches more destinations In other news, the airline announced it was starting direct services to Vienna, Austria’s capital on December 20. The new service will operate with a frequency of four non-stop flights a week. In June, the carrier launched services to Athens in Greece.
