Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways to launch seasonal flights to three destinations

Etihad’s new flights to the Greek islands complement its existing service to Athens

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, will launch seasonal flights to Greek islands, Mykonos and Santorini, and the southern Spanish city of Malaga in Andalusia.

Flights to Mykonos will operate between July 8 and September 11, 2021 and Santorini between July 9 and September 12, 2021. Both destinations will be served with a twice-weekly direct service.

A safe travel corridor between the UAE and Greece has opened for fully vaccinated travellers to move between the two countries from May 18, 2021. Under the agreement, individuals from both countries holding vaccination certificates will not need to quarantine upon arrival, while abiding by other precautionary measures.

Etihad’s new flights to the Greek islands complement the airline’s existing service to Athens, official news agency WAM reported.

Meanwhile, Etihad will launch new flights to Malaga, twice a week, between July 9 and September 15, 2021, using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Dubai-based carrier flydubai has also confirmed that it will operate three weekly flights to Mykonos International Airport (JMK) and Santorini (Thira) Airport (JTR) in Greece between June 18 and September 29.

Etihad recently launched Verified to Fly, allowing guests to validate their Covid-19 travel documents before arriving at the airport. Travellers using the service can enjoy fast track check-in at the airport by going to the dedicated desk for a quicker experience.
