Flydubai to operate seasonal flights to two Greek islands

The launch of these flights will increase the number of seasonal routes served by the carrier to six

Dubai-based carrier flydubai will operate three weekly flights to Mykonos International Airport (JMK) and Santorini (Thira) Airport (JTR) in Greece between June 18 and September 29.

Flights from Terminal 3, Dubai International (DXB) to Mykonos International Airport (JMK) and Santorini (Thira) Airport (JTR) will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Return flights from Mykonos will operate via a short stop in Santorini. Simultaneously, flights to Santorini will operate via a short stop in Mykonos.

The return Business Class fares from DXB to JMK start from Dhs8,000 and Economy Class fares start from Dhs2,500. Meanwhile, return Business Class fares from DXB to JTR start from Dhs8,000 and Economy Class fares start from Dhs2,500.

Flights are available to book on the carrier’s website, its app, through its contact centre in Dubai, travel shops or travel partners.

A safe travel corridor between the UAE and Greece has opened for fully vaccinated travellers to move between the two countries from May 18, 2021. Under the agreement, individuals from both countries holding vaccination certificates will not need to quarantine upon arrival, while abiding by other precautionary measures.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, chief executive officer at flydubai, said: “Demand for travel has started to increase as more countries gradually lift restrictions on international travel. The UAE has recently added Bahrain, Greece and Serbia to the safe travel list which has encouraged more people to start planning their summer holidays. Mykonos and Santorini will be popular choices for travel from the UAE and GCC.”

The launch of these flights will increase the number of seasonal routes served by flydubai to six destinations including Bodrum and Trabzon in Turkey, Batumi in Georgia and Tivat in Montenegro.

Flights to Bodrum and Trabzon in Turkey will start from June 4 and June 24 respectively. The carrier plans to start flights to Naples in Italy and Salzburg in Austria from July onwards.

Flydubai will restart its operations to Batumi in Georgia and Tivat in Montenegro from June 25, with both destinations offering UAE residents visa on arrival.

Flydubai has introduced an inflight entertainment streaming service to its fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Passengers can enjoy complimentary inflight entertainment streamed wirelessly to their personal mobile devices, laptops and tablets, replacing the seatback entertainment system in the economy cabin.
