Home Industry Tourism Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways adds more flights to Seychelles The airline will offer five weekly flights on the route from October 7 by Aarti Nagraj September 26, 2021 Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways will be operating more flights to Seychelles from October, it announced on Sunday. The airline will offer five weekly flights on the route from October 7 – up from four at present – to cater to increased demand in the market. The flights will operate from Abu Dhabi every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, taking off at 1.15am and landing in Seychelles’ capital Mahe at 5.50am. The return flight from Seychelles will operate on Monday, Wednesday,Friday, Saturday and Sunday, departing at 12.10am and arriving in the UAE capital at 4.40am. Etihad will also operate seven additional services between October 15-24 to coincide with the half-term holidays, it said in a statement. The additional adhoc flights will depart from Abu Dhabi at 9.15am, landing in Seychelles at 1.50pm, with the return flight taking off at 2.45pm and arriving in the UAE capital at 7.15pm. Etihad has also launched a sale on fares to Seychelles, with return fares starting from Dhs1,795 in economy, for travel in October and November 2021. Martin Drew, Etihad’s senior vice president – Sales and Cargo, said: “Seychelles is a one-of-a-kind destination, and with vaccinated travellers in the UAE being able to fly there and back without quarantine, it is the perfect destination for a short getaway or a longer family holiday.” Travellers will need to present a negative PCR test before boarding Etihad Airways flights. Abu Dhabi added Seychelles to its ‘green list’ of destinations in July, meaning passengers are exempt from mandatory quarantine measures after landing in Abu Dhabi.
