UAE weather: convective clouds, possible rain over Oct 6-9

The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather advisory for the country, detailing expected conditions from Sunday, October 6, to Wednesday, October 9.

The advisory highlights that the country will be influenced by a combination of atmospheric factors, including an extension of a surface low-pressure system and upper air low-pressure from both the South and North, accompanied by a relatively cold air mass at higher altitudes.

Possibility of rain over some areas of the UAE

On October 6, the NCM predicted a probability of local convective cloud formation in Eastern areas, potentially leading to rainfall.

From October 7-9, the weather body anticipates the formation of local convective clouds over Eastern and Northern regions, with the possibility of these clouds extending to Southern areas.

This period may bring light to moderate rainfall, with heavier downpours expected at times, accompanied by lightning and thunder.

Winds are forecasted to be light to moderate, shifting from Southeasterly to Northeasterly, and later becoming Northwesterly.

These winds may strengthen at times, potentially leading to blowing dust and sand, which could reduce horizontal visibility.

The sea is expected to be slight to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
