The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued a weather alert, on Tuesday, to warn residents of heavy rain across parts of the UAE.

Rain in Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi Police issued an alert for motorists, calling on them to exercise caution due to the rainy weather and to follow the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.

Over the past two days, various regions in the country, have experienced light rain showers.

According to the NCM the wet weather conditions will continue. Al Ain will witness moderate to heavy rainfall, with Abu Dhabi also likely to experience some showers.

In a post on X, the NCM warned motorists and residents to exercise caution: “Precautions should be taken in case of heavy rain at times over some Eastern areas and advised to stay away from areas of accumulated rain.”

The update comes as rain is expected in parts of the country, until Thursday.

The NCM warned of convective cloud activity in parts of Abu Dhabi, Al Dhofar and Al Ain. Dubai too witnessed cloudy conditions on Monday continuing into Tuesday.

Heavy rain and hail was reported on the Dubai-Al Ain Road as well as the Masakin area of Al Ain on Monday.

The NCM reported that Umm Al Sheif witnessed a brief spell of rain on Tuesday.

The NCM had forecast inclement weather conditions due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) reaching the UAE.

Oman

Oman Meteorology warned of heavy rain to be expected across the north of the country throughout Tuesday.

Oman witnessed very heavy rain, on Monday, which caused accidents leading to the death of one child.

On social media platform X, Royal Oman Police said the child was one of five people in a car which had been swept away after heavy rains brought the Wadi Andam stream on the Azki-Sinaw road to flow in spate.
