Air Arabia set to commence Sharjah-Bangkok flights

The daily service between the two destinations will begin from June 30

Low-cost carrier Air Arabia will soon commence direct flights between the emirate of Sharjah in the UAE and the Thai capital of Bangkok.

Starting June 30, its Airbus A321 will be deployed on the route for the daily service between Sharjah International airport and Suvarnabhumi International airport in Bangkok.

The schedule of flights is below:

Adel Al Ali, group chief executive officer, Air Arabia, said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of our latest route to Bangkok. We look forward to the start of operations and we are confident that this new route will further contribute to the trade and tourism ties between both countries while providing our customer base with the opportunity to travel direct between both cities.”

Air Arabia recently reported a net profit of Dhs342m for the first three months ending March 31, 2023, an increase of 17 percent compared to Dhs291m registered in the corresponding quarter in 2022.

Also, more than 3.9 million passengers flew with Air Arabia Group between January and March this year across its seven operating hubs in the UAE, Morocco, Egypt, Armenia and Pakistan, which also represented an increase of 59 per cent compared to the same quarter of last year. It added nine new routes to its global network from its seven hubs during Q1 2023.

Air Arabia Group currently operates a fleet of 68 Airbus A320 and A321 neo-LR aircraft.

Destinations that it will commence flights to later this year include Baku in Azerbaijan which will operate as a thrice-weekly service from Abu Dhabi beginning September 13, in addition to twice weekly flights to Baghdad from Abu Dhabi from June 22 and twice weekly flights to Erbil from Abu Dhabi starting September 15.
