Home Transport Aviation UAE’s flydubai resumes service to Gassim, Saudi Arabia Budget carrier flydubai’s network in Saudi Arabia has now grown to eight destinations, including AlUla, Dammam, Jeddah, Madinah, Riyadh, Taif and Yanbu by Gulf Business April 19, 2022 Budget carrier flydubai has announced that its service to Gassim in Saudi Arabia will commence on May 1 with a daily flight. With the resumption of daily flights to Gassim, flydubai’s network in Saudi Arabia has now grown to eight destinations, including AlUla, Dammam, Jeddah, Madinah, Riyadh, Taif and Yanbu. Flights to Gassim International Airport will operate daily from Terminal 2, Dubai International (DXB) between May 1 and May 9. These flights will temporarily operate from Dubai World Central (DWC) during the northern runway refurbishment project announced by Dubai Airports which is scheduled to take place from 9 May to June 22. Flights to Gassim will resume from DXB from June 23. Flights to 34 destinations from flydubai’s network of more than 90 destinations will operate from DWC during the runway refurbishment project including flights to Addis Ababa, Bahrain, Delhi, Jeddah, Kuwait, Mumbai, Muscat and Riyadh. Read: Flydubai to temporarily operate flights to 34 destinations from Dubai World Central In other news, the carrier also resumed operations to Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport from March 2 – flydubai operates five flights a week to the city. flydubai also restarted its flights to Taif in Saudi Arabia from April 15 with a daily service. The airline has announced it will launch flights to Pisa and resume operations to Catania from June 24. It is the first carrier in the UAE to operate a direct flight from Dubai to Pisa and back. The carrier, which will also resume its operations to Catania in Sicily, presently operates flights to Naples.
