The UAE remains on the UK’s ‘red list’ of countries for travel, as per the latest travel update issued by the UK Department of Transport.

Those arriving from a red list nation have to mandatorily quarantine in a hotel for 10 days upon their arrival in the UK. Also, only British or Irish nationals or those with residence rights in the UK are permitted to fly from red list countries.

The UK added the UAE to its red list in January this year.

In April, British Transport secretary Grant Shapps said at an online event that the UAE was primarily included on the red list because of serving as a major transit hub for airlines Emirates and Etihad.
