Appointed as UNHCR’s eminent advocate in 2019, he also previously made the first major Zakat contribution to the agency, donating $35m in 2019. Sheikh Thani is the founder of diversified Qatari conglomerate Ezdan Holding Group that focuses on real estate, which recently announced a 12.5 per cent growth in net profit for 2020.
