UAE will be the ‘fastest country’ to recover from Covid-19 pandemic – Sheikh Mohammed

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has affirmed that the UAE will be the fastest country to rebound from the Covid-19 pandemic.

His comments preceded the opening of the 40th edition of technology event Gitex on Sunday, December 6. Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre until December 10, Gitex will be the world’s only major live, in-person technology event of 2020.

“Gitex will be the most important and realistic global technological event in 2020 and the UAE will be the fastest country to recover in the world,” Sheikh Mohammed tweeted.

The year 2021 will kickstart with multiple projects and initiatives, he added.

“We will conclude 2020 with a global event and we will start 2021 with a series of projects and major initiatives – 2021 our fiftieth year and our golden jubilee, and it will be different from all years.”

With the country set to celebrate its golden jubilee in 2021, the UAE remains focussed on boosting its economy and developing advanced science and technology.
