Home GCC Adidas to host FIFA 21 tournament for GCC gamers Amateurs and pros will compete for $25,000 in prize money by David Ndichu October 18, 2020 Adidas is sponsoring a FIFA 21 tournament for gamers in the GCC, with a chance to win the $25,000 prize money. The tournament, held with game publisher EA Sports, will see amateur players compete against pros. The sportswear brand is celebrating the launch of its new X Ghosted football boot, worn by Egyptian footballer Mo Salah. The registration opens on October 18th at www.adidasgaming.me for the four-week tournament which kicks off on October 28th. The tournament will include six qualifiers running simultaneously with up to 1024 players in each qualifier. The top four players from each qualifier will advance to the group stages. The 24 players from the qualifiers will join six prominent FIFA Youtubers from the GCC such as Nsoo7y, Mr D0ne, MiRACLE, Ultimate Games, and two pro gamers. Viewers can also win signed Adidas merch and prizes each week of the tournament. “With the rise of esports in the GCC, we have created the first dedicated FIFA 21 tournament in the region so that players can experience the newly launched X-Ghosted boots worn by Mo Salah – in-game,” said Amrith Gopinath, senior marketing director for the Middle East at Adidas. “We hope to provide a platform for 5000 young players to demonstrate their talents and have the opportunity to play against influencers and pro players,” he added.
