UAE reports 85 new coronavirus cases, Saudi Arabia records second death

On Wednesday, the UAE reported 85 new coronavirus cases in the country, taking the total number of those infected to 333, said Dr. Farida Al Hosani, official spokesperson of the UAE health sector.

The condition of the new cases are reported to be stable.

The spokesperson also reported the recovery of 7 more cases, taking the total number of patients who had recovered from the infection in the UAE to 52.

Saudi Arabia
On Wednesday, Saudi Arabia reported its second coronavirus death, that of an expatriate resident of Makkah.

It also reported 133 new infections, taking the total number of those infected In the kingdom to 900.

Of the newly confirmed cases, 18 are associated with recent travel, and were quarantined upon their arrival in the country.

Among the new cases, three are in a critical condition and in intensive care while the condition of the others is said to be stable.

On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia reported its first coronavirus death, that of a resident of Madinah.

Saudi has imposed an evening curfew to limit the spread of Covid-19 for 21 days starting from Monday, March 23.

However, on Wednesday, March 23, the kingdom announced further restrictions to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus, reported official channel Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

It included barring residents in 13 regions of the kingdom from leaving or moving to another region.

The kingdom has also barred entry and exit from Riyadh, Makkah, and Madinah effective from 3pm on Thursday, March 26, until the end of the curfew period.

Also, beginning from Thursday, the curfew will be initiated daily from 3pm in the above mentioned cities, whereas it will begin at 7pm in the rest of the country until 6am the following morning.
