Covid-19: Saudi Arabia reports first death, 205 new cases

The number of those infected in the kingdom tallies 767

Saudi Arabia announced its first Covid-19 fatality on Tuesday, March 24, confirmed as a resident of Madinah.

A total of 205 new cases were diagnosed, marking the highest single-day toll, Saudi’s Ministry of Health tweeted.

 

Of the newly diagnosed cases, the highest number of those infected were in Jeddah (82) and Riyadh (69) while 119 cases were linked to travel, the ministry confirmed.

The total number of Covid-19 afflicted people in the kingdom now stands at 767, including 28 who have fully recovered.

In a bid to try and spread the halt of the contagion, Saudi Arabia imposed an evening curfew for 21 days starting Monday, March 23.

The curfew will be in effect from 7pm until 6am.
