Oman has suspended the issuance of tourist visas to all countries for one month starting March 15, Oman News Agency tweeted.

The committee has also decided that effective March 15, all sporting activities and non-class student activities will be suspended for 30 days.

The 30-day ban also extends to cruise ships that are prohibited to enter Omani ports. The GCC state has also banned shisha – similar to a measure imposed by Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Additionally, for 30 days, court attendance is limited to only those involved in cases.

On Monday, Oman’s Ministry of Health reported two new cases of the virus strain, bringing the total number of those infected in the sultanate to 18.

The ministry confirmed that nine cases have completely recovered while the others remain stable.
