Arabtec unit wins Dhs113m contract for project at Dubai Creek Harbour

Dubai contractor Arabtec announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, EFECO (Emirates Falcon Electromechanical Co) has won a contract for a project at the Dubai Creek Harbour development.

In a bourse statement, Arabtec said EFECO had entered into a contract with Al Naboodah for a Dhs113m project for the MEP works of the Creekside 18 development.

EFECO will undertake the execution and completion of the MEP works of two 37-storey residential towers.

Work on the project will begin this month, and the duration of the project will be 22 months, the statement confirmed.

Launched by Dubai developer Emaar Properties in September 2015, Creekside 18 residences is a two-tower apartment complex that is situated in the Island district of the Dubai Creek Harbour project.

It consists of 480 residential units with one, two and three bedroom apartments.

The wider Dubai Creek Harbour project – a joint venture of Emaar Properties and Dubai Holding – is located next to Ras Al Khor wildlife sanctuary, and is a 6 sq km mixed-use development with waterfront resorts, a yacht club and a marina as well as retail and commercial space.

Along with Creekside 18, it will also feature other residential projects such as Creek Gate, Harbour Gate, The Cove, Dubai Creek Residences, Harbour Views and Creek Horizon homes.

It will also feature a 4.5km-long Creek Boardwalk offering high-end retail and leisure options. Other amenities include event spaces, galleries, parks, water features.

The development will also host what is slated to become the world’s new tallest building – The Tower at Dubai Creek Harbour.

The $1bn mixed-use building will form the centerpiece of the Dubai Creek Harbour master-development and is anticipated to be completed by 2020.

The Tower will beat Burj Khalifa (828 metres) as the tallest building in the world, but the exact height of the new building has not yet been disclosed.
