The world’s largest inflatable waterpark AquaFun has reopened at JBR Beach in a redesigned format, featuring the phrase “I love Dubai” (in Arabic and English).

The launch in the new format comes ahead of Expo 2020 Dubai, with the idea for the new shape inspired by the Love Lakes launched in Dubai’s Al Marmoom, a statement said.

Covering an area of about 5,000 square metres, the waterpark can accommodate up to 500 people concurrently.

It is designed as an obstacle course, in which the visitor needs to climb, manoeuvre, and jump to reach the endpoint across 100 obstacles and a challenge of stairs, slopes, towers, bridges and curves.

Nine rescuers are available throughout the working hours from 9am to sunset.

“The material of the park is made of the best rubber quality, primarily to ensure safety and security and a longer life span for the games,” said Ahmad Ben Chaibah, an Emirati businessman and founder of AquaFun.

“Visitors can enjoy all the games all day long when purchasing a ticket that allows them to go down to the beach to rest and return to play again.”

He added: “Through the park’s physical activities, a person can burn between 500 to 1300 calories while playing at our water park for an hour or more.”

Launched in 2013, AquaFun created the world’s largest inflatable slide the same year for the UAE National Day on the Abu Dhabi corniche.

The company has since then opened in different locations across the country and in other GCC countries including Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

It has so far managed about 50 sites, and during this period it has attracted nearly 200,000 visitors, the statement added.
