Starting June 2, 2025, the daily direct flights will be operated by the airline’s new Airbus A321XLR aircraft, offering fares from as low as Dhs429. The new service marks a significant expansion in the carrier’s network, offering intercontinental travel with up to 70 per cent lower fares. Wizz Air’s A321XLR aircraft to operate the new route This route is the first to utilise the A321XLR’s extended range, enabling the airline to provide affordable long-haul travel. “We are excited to launch this new route, expanding our network and offering unbeatable fares,” said Tamara Vallois, the head of Commercial at Wizz Air Abu Dhabi. Nathalie Jongma, VP of Aviation Development at Abu Dhabi Airports said: “We welcome Wizz Air’s announcement and the expansion of its network to Zayed International Airport. The deployment of the Airbus A321XLR on this route is noteworthy, as it allows for longer direct flights on narrow-body aircraft and underscores our commitment to providing travellers with a diverse range of destinations and a seamless travel experience.” Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, established as a joint venture with ADQ in 2021, has rapidly grown to become the second-largest carrier in Abu Dhabi by seat capacity, operating over 11,000 flights and carrying 1.7 million passengers in 2024.
