Home Transport Aviation Wizz Air inaugurates three new routes from Europe to Jeddah The new routes are a part of a line-up of 24 new routes to Saudi Arabia announced in recent months by Wizz Air by Gulf Business January 13, 2023 Wizz Air has launched three new connections between Bucharest, Budapest and Rome and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. The new routes will be served twice a week. The airline kicked off 2023 further strengthening its presence in Saudi Arabia by launching five new routes from Hungary, Romania and Italy to Riyadh and Jeddah. The new routes to Jeddah from Bucharest (Monday and Friday), Budapest (Tuesday and Saturday) and Rome (Wednesday and Saturday) will boost the growing Saudi Arabian tourism sector. The airline is currently operating 12 routes to the kingdom from its main hubs in Europe. The new routes are a part of a line-up of 24 new routes to Saudi Arabia announced in recent months by Wizz Air. At the Air Connectivity Program, we are excited to unlock new opportunities with our air travel partners, and we look forward to the cultural exchange and prosperity this will bring.” Wizz Air signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia in May 2022. The MoU is supported by the Air Connectivity Programme, a Ministry of Tourism initiative aimed to enhance the development of the Saudi tourism sector.
