Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, a UAE national airline, said on Wednesday it would begin flights to two new destinations of Tirana in Albania and Sarajevo in Bosnia & Herzegovina over the next two months.

The flights to Tirana will commence on September 11 and to Sarajevo from October 3.

The flight to Tirana will operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays, while flights to Sarajevo will also operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Tickets for these routes are already on sale on the airline’s portals with fares starting from Dhs179 for a one-way ticket.

Albania is currently on Abu Dhabi’s green list for travel. Vaccinated travellers from green list countries are exempt from mandatory quarantine measures after landing in Abu Dhabi and will be required to undergo PCR testing upon arrival at Abu Dhabi International Airport, as well as another PCR test on day 6.

Unvaccinated travellers arriving green list countries are also exempt from mandatory quarantine but will also need to undergo PCR testing on arrival, as well as two further PCR tests on day 6 and 12.

The addition of Tirana and Sarajevo two cities will raise Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s total network routes to 31.

“When we launched at the start of 2021, we committed to rapid expansion of our network as well as providing viable and ultra-low fare travel for UAE residents and inbound tourists. With 31 routes now on our roster, we continue to deliver on this promise and look forward to welcoming even more travellers onboard our aircraft,” said Kees Van Schaick, managing director of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi.

The airline has a fleet of four brand new state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft. With the airline’s WIZZ Flex facility, passengers can cancel their flight up to three hours before departure without any fee and receive 100 per cent of the fare immediately reimbursed in airline credit.
