WETEX and Dubai Solar Show begin, supports UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is organising the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Show (DSS) from September 27 to 29 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The exhibition is an integrated platform for organisations in the water, energy and environment sectors. It provides exhibitors, visitors, experts and specialists from around the world to learn about the latest technologies, solutions and developments in these sectors.

With an aim to promote collaboration between the public and private sectors locally and globally, this year’s WETEX and DSS has attracted 62 sponsors and 32 partners and supporters

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD&CEO of DEWA, Founder and Chairman of WETEX and Dubai Solar Show said, “WETEX and DSS consolidates Dubai’s position as a global hub for the green economy. This also supports the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Emissions Strategy 2050 to provide 100 per cent energy production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050.

“It provides an ideal platform to enable decision-makers and investors from around the world to meet, sign deals, build partnerships, and learn about market needs, future projects, and opportunities to join renewable or clean energy projects in the UAE and the region,” added Al Tayer.

1750 companies from 55 countries with 20 international pavilions will take part in the exhibition. Green energy projects and investments are very popular in the GCC region, thanks to many incentives and encouraging factors, including competitive prices, investor confidence, the strategic benefits of entering promising markets, and increased investment in the value chain.

WETEX and DSS coincides with the 8th World Green Economy Summit (WGES) organised by the World Green Economy Organization, DEWA, and the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy on September 28 and 29 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.  It will be held under the theme ‘Climate Action Leadership through Collaboration: The Roadmap to Net-Zero’.
