Videos: Heavy rains, hail hit parts of the UAE

Motorists have been urged to be careful due to poor visibility on the roads

Parts of the UAE witnessed heavy rains and stormy weather on Sunday, with hail also seen in Fujairah.

The weather has been overcast with convective clouds leading to rains accompanied with lightning and thunder at times, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said in its daily bulletin.

Heavy rains were recorded in Al Ain, while Fujairah also witnessed hail, the NCM confirmed.

Heavy rains also led to waterfalls in some of the mountainous areas.

The NCM also warned that heavy rains will cause poor horizontal visibility, and urged motorists to be careful.

Looking ahead, cloudy weather conditions are forecast to continue in the UAE from Monday to Wednesday. Parts of the country will see heavy rain accompanied with lightning and thunder at times.

Strong winds are also anticipated to cause poor visibility on the roads.

Temperatures will drop on Tuesday, the NCM predicted.

The weather will start to change on Thursday, with the country expected to only see light rainfall.
