A weather alert has been issued for parts of the UAE on Tuesday due to rough conditions in the Oman Sea.

Waves are expected to reach heights of 7 feet along the east coast, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said on Twitter.

Roads in the eastern parts of Sharjah and Fujairah were also closed after high waves caused flooding.

The Corniche Roads in Khor Fakkan and Kalba were closed after high waves breached the barricade and flooded the surrounding streets early on Tuesday morning, officials said.

Authorities have urged residents in the eastern regions to avoid visiting the beach during the rough weather.

Overall, the NCM said that the UAE will experience fair weather in general on Tuesday with humidity expected to increase at night and on Wednesday morning.

Temperatures will range from a low of 18 degrees celsius in the mountains to a high of 38 degrees in the internal areas.
