Update: Abu Dhabi International Airport announced that it has resumed flights after suspending operations because of bad weather conditions.

“Passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines for an update on their flight schedule prior to heading to the airport, it said.

Earlier, Abu Dhabi Airports had said that it was suspending flights for “the safety of our passengers and in line with civil aviation regulations.”

Meanwhile Dubai airline Emirates has also warned passengers of potential delays in flight timings.

“Emirates flights may be delayed due to weather conditions in Dubai. Please check your latest flight status on emirates.com,” the airline said on Twitter.
rab Emirates has been hit by severe rain and thunderstorms on Wednesday with schools in Abu Dhabi also shut for the day.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology has warned that bad weather will continue throughout the day across the country.

“Unstable weather likely to persist over the country. The amounts of clouds will increase over scattered areas accompanied with towering clouds and thunder,” it said in its daily bulletin.

Rain and shower is also likely to cause flood conditions near the eastern and northern mountainous areas.
