Home GCC UAE UAE’s Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak meets Iran’s new president in Tehran Media reports suggested that President Raisi expressed Iran’s sincere desire to strengthen its relations with the UAE by Varun Godinho August 8, 2021 Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, has met with Iran’s President, Ebrahim Raisi, during an official UAE delegation’s visit to Tehran. He led the UAE delegation to Tehran to congratulate the president elect on his victory and to express the congratulations of the country’s rulers on his inauguration. According the UAE official news agency WAM, Sheikh Nahyan conveyed greetings of his country’s President, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as well as that of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. During the meeting, President Raisi expressed Iran’s sincere and serious desire to strengthen its relations with the UAE across all fields, Iran’s Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) has reported. Raisi, 60, was confirmed by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a televised ceremony, last week, thereby ending the eight-year rule of Hassan Rouhani.
