Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, attended a tripartite meeting in Egypt with Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Egypt, and Israeli Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, on Tuesday.

At the meeting, the leaders discussed ways to enhance relations between the three countries, the importance of cooperation and ways to ensure stability in the region, as well as the bolstering of global energy security and market stability, according to UAE state news agency WAM.

WAM noted that Sheikh Mohamed, El-Sisi and Bennett also exchanged views on “a number of regional and global issues of mutual concern.”

In December last year, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett arrived in the UAE as part of an official visit. The following month Israel’s President Isaac Herzog visited the UAE too.

At the time of his visit in January, Herzog noted that since the signing of the Abraham Accords in 2020, trade between the UAE and Israel topped $1bn, with more than 120 agreements signed, and a $100m bilateral R&D fund also established recently.

The UAE is seeking to grow economic ties with Israel to more than $1 trillion over the next decade, it was announced last year.
