The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has urged motorists to be cautious on the roads due to dust storms caused by winds in various areas of the country.

Those driving on the roads have been advised to reduce the speed and leave enough distance between vehicles.

In its daily bulletin, the NCMS said that the weather will be hot in general and very hot over some internal areas, with temperatures reaching a high of up to 46 degrees celcius.

Light to moderate winds in general – freshening at times – will cause blowing dust over some exposed areas, it said.

It may also be partly cloudy and hazy at times, with clouds over some eastern and southern areas.

“The relative humidity is likely to increase during night and early morning over some coastal areas, especially westward,” it added.

The sea is moderate in the Arabian Gulf becoming rough at times and moderate in Oman sea.

The NCMS bulletin predicted similar weather conditions for Friday and Saturday, with dust storms also expected to continue over exposed areas.
