UAE’s Dolphin to supply Qatari gas to Sharjah and RAK

Additional gas will be provided to authorities in both emirates

UAE gas network operator Dolphin Energy Limited has signed a long-term liquefied natural gas sale and purchase deal with Qatar Petroleum.

The agreement will see Qatar Petroleum provide additional quantities of LNG for Dolphin for export to the UAE through the offshore pipeline between the two countries.

This will then be supplied to Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority and Ras Al Khaimah Gas Commission via the eastern gas distribution network in the UAE, according to state news agency WAM.

No details were given as to the timeframe of the deal or the amount of gas to be provided.

The Dolphin pipeline sends 2 billion cubic feet of gas per day between Qatar, the UAE and Oman.
