The new facility is expected to play a significant role in establishing Dubai as a premier global logistics centre. The $27m (Dhs100m) facility will provide a major boost to the company’s operational capabilities amid rising demand for cargo and logistics services in the region. Global air cargo demand surged 9.8 per cent in October, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), marking 15 consecutive months of growth. Middle Eastern carriers saw a 4.5 per cent year-on-year surge in cargo demand, while capacity grew 0.8 per cent. dnata Logistics said the facility can process 400,000 tonnes of cargo annually, which will increase its storage capacity by 50 per cent and create more than 50 new direct jobs. The facility will be equipped with the latest technologies, including automated systems for cargo storage and retrieval, as well as truck loading and offloading. An AI-driven warehouse management system will be implemented, delivering superior efficiency and value for partners. The construction of the warehouse is underway, with completion scheduled for November 2025. “We are thrilled to break ground on this new, advanced facility, which represents a pivotal investment in our future growth.
