Workers in the UAE could soon have another long weekend.
The birthday of Prophet Mohammed is expected to fall on Sunday, December 11 or Monday, December 12, according to earlier predictions.
However, the date, based on the Islamic calendar, is yet to be officially confirmed.
Even if it falls on Monday, the government could move the holiday to Sunday to club it with the weekend.
Both public and privates sector workers are anticipated to have one day off to mark the occasion.
Prophet Mohammed’s birthday fell twice in 2015 – on January 3 and December 24, since the Hijri calendar includes 354 days, compared to 365 days in the Gregorian year.
