Rainfall expected in parts of UAE, temperatures to stay low

Light to moderate rainfall pelted across select parts of Sharjah and Fujairah on May 3 as overcast conditions scattered across the eastern, northern and southern areas of the country.

Dust storms triggered by fresh winds are anticipated as well, which may render limited visibility.

“Fair to partly cloudy, becoming cloudy at times over scattered areas especially the Eastern, Northern and Southern areas, with a chance of rainfall at intervals. Moderate to fresh winds at times especially with the clouds activity, causing blowing dust and sand, and reducing the horizontal visibility. Sea will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea,” National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said in a statement.

The UAE recorded its lowest temperature of 20.8°C in Jabal Jais at 4.15am today.

Temperatures will vary between 26-41°C in the coastal areas, between 25-44°C in the internal areas and 18-30°C in the mountains.

Overcast conditions with light to moderate winds are anticipated to persist throughout the rest of the week.

The NCM has advised UAE residents to comply with the directives of the authorities in light of anticipated weather conditions.
