UAE weather update: Rainfall, dust storms expected; cloudy conditions to persist this week

Light to moderate rainfall hit select parts of Umm Al Quwain (Al Salma) and Dubai (Abu Hail) in the early hours of the morning.

Meanwhile, overcast conditions with some rainfall is further expected in select parts of the UAE today.

“Fair to partly cloudy and hazy at times, with a probability of some convective clouds formation Southward, associated with rainfall. Humid by night & Monday morning Westward. Light to moderate winds, freshening during daytime causing blowing dust. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea” the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said in a statement.

The UAE recorded its lowest temperature of 23.9°C in Jebel Jais at 6.45am today.

Temperatures in coastal areas will vary between 28-41°C, between 27-46°C in internal areas, and between 20-36°C in the mountains. Humidity, however, will range between 20-85 per cent in the coastal areas, 20-80 per cent in the internal areas, and between 25-70 per cent in the mountains.

Meanwhile, fair to partly cloudy conditions will persist throughout the week, with winds triggering a potential dust storm.
