UAE weather update: Rain, fog hit parts of the country

Light to moderate showers were recorded over Saadiyat Island in the capital emirate, while moderate rain pelted across the Abu Dhabi Island in the early hours of the morning, the National Centre of Meterology (NCM) has confirmed.

Fog over Al Sila and Al Qheweifat in the Al Dhafra area, as well as over Al Khatam road toward Abu Dhabi was recorded. The NCM has issued an alert to residents to exercise caution in the wake of underlying weather conditions.

Light to moderate winds in general and freshening at times are also expected, the NCM said.

The lowest temperature recorded over the UAE today was 6.3°C in Raknah at 3.15am local time.

Temperatures will vary between 13-25°C in the coastal areas, 10-29°C within the internal areas and between 5-17°C in the mountains. Meanwhile, humidity will hover between 30-85 per cent in coastal areas, 25-90 per cent within internal areas and between 20-70 per cent in the mountains.
