UAE weather update: Dust storms expected, temperatures to touch 50°C

Light to moderate winds, freshening at times, are expected to hit parts of the UAE, causing dust and rendering low horizontal visibility over exposed areas, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has said.

“Hazy during daytime and partly cloudy at times. The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea,” NCM said in its weather bulletin.

Temperatures will hit highs of 50°C and lows of 29°C amid internal areas today, while it will hover between 31-47°C in the coastal areas and islands, and range between 24-37°C in the mountains, the NCM added.

The country recorded its lowest temperature of 25.5°C in Raknah (Al Ain) at 5.45am this morning. Meanwhile, temperatures touched a high of 49.1°C in Al Jazeera B.G. (Al Dhafra Area) at 4pm local time on July 27.
